Dear DSI Members,
The search for the DSI Executive Director is now complete. I’m pleased to inform you that, with DSI Board of Directors’ approval, Ms. Vivian Landrum is hired as the next DSI Executive Director. Her official start date is Monday, October 24th. She is very excited and eager to join DSI as we are for her to join our DSI Family. I’m confident that she will be a great asset for DSI with her wealth of experience and knowledge. She has a splendid and welcoming personality that many of us will enjoy. You can find Vivian’s brief bio below.
In the meantime, I would like to thank our Interim Executive Director, Johnny Rungtusanatham for all his hard work and service in his role during the last two years. We are very grateful for everything Johnny did for DSI. In addition to all his contributions as the Interim Executive Director, Johnny, kindly agreed to continue serving until December 1st as an Advisor to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities. We appreciate his willingness to continue to help during the transition period.
Please be sure to thank Johnny for all his work and welcome Vivian to DSI when you see them at the upcoming conference in Austin.
Finally, I would like to thank all members of the 2016 DSI Executive Director Search Committee for their time and hard work. The search committee included Powell Robinson (DSI Past President, DSI Past Interim Executive Director), Jeet Gupta (DSI President-Elect), Jennifer Blackhurst (DSI Secretary), Melissa Niles (University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business, Human Resources) and myself (President). DSI Executive Director is a very important position for the long-term success of the organization. Identifying the most qualified candidate requires a lot of time and work. The committee worked very diligently in finding the most suitable candidate.
I look forward to seeing all of you in Austin.
