Daniel C. Steele is an associate professor in the College of Business Administration at the University of South Carolina. Coming from an industrial background, his activities center on manufacturing planning and control systems, Just-in-Time, cellular manufacturing, and manufacturing strategy. Professor Steele has electrical engineering and industrial management degrees from Purdue University and a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. His industrial experience spans 15 years in both staff and line positions. Professor Steele has published in Decision Sciences, Production and Inventory Management Journal, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, International Journal of Production Economics, and International Journal of Logistics Management. He is a member of Decision Sciences Institute, INFORMS, Production and Operations Management Society, and the American Production and Inventory Control Society.
