The Mathematics and Science Division of Babson College invites applicants for a tenure-track position starting September 1, 2011. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in applied mathematics, a proven teaching record with the desire to deliver operations research, statistics, and mathematics courses to undergraduate business students, and an active research agenda. The anticipated teaching load is four classes per academic year. The appointment will be made at a rank commensurate with the individual’s record. 

Babson College is a highly selective college located 14 miles west of Boston with approximately 1900 undergraduate students. The undergraduate curriculum integrates core competencies, key business disciplines, and the liberal arts.  The college has recently formalized a partnership with Olin College of Engineering and Wellesley College.

Operations and Supply Chain Management Visiting Faculty Openings

The Operations and Decision Technologies Department of the Kelley School of Business invites applicants for clinical faculty positions to begin in Fall 2011. A terminal degree with a strong record or promise in teaching is required. 

The major teaching responsibilities involve Operations and Supply Chain Management with a special emphasis in the Logistics area.  An interest in teaching Data Analysis and Spreadsheet Modeling would be a plus.  Courses would be taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels and an 18 credit hour teaching load would be required.

Faculty will be available to meet with candidates at the Informs conference in Austin, and at the DSI meeting in San Diego.  Individual arrangements will be made for those not attending the conferences. To ensure consideration, applications should be received by November 5, 2010, however the search will continue until the positions are filled. Research on any specialization within the broad framework of decision sciences, management science, and operations research is of interest. The major teaching responsibilities of these positions involve decision sciences, management science, and business analytics courses across all levels of the curriculum.

Faculty Positions

The Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan invites applications and nominations for faculty positions beginning September, 2011.

We seek outstanding candidates for faculty positions in the areas of Quality Engineering, Human Factors  and Ergonomics, at the assistant/associate professor level and Optimization at all levels.  Applicants in research areas such as production systems, supply chain management, cognitive engineering, perceptual and cognitive systems modeling, applied probability, decision analysis, health care delivery systems, or financial engineering are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. and must demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality research and evidence of teaching potential. Experience related to manufacturing and/or service operations is desirable.  Candidates for Associate or Full Professor should have a commensurate record of research publications and are expected to provide organizational and research leadership, develop sources of external funding, build relationships with industry, and interact substantively with faculty colleagues.

Candidates should provide (i) a current C.V., (ii) a list of references, and one page summary statements describing: (iii) career teaching plans; and (iv) research plans. The application review process will begin on November 15, 2010, but the positions will remain open and applications will continue to be reviewed until appointments are made.

We seek candidates who will provide inspiration and leadership in research and actively contribute to teaching.
