Abstract: We discuss a specific case of a local hospital in Louisiana,
describing the supply chain decision structure and the various conflicting
goals in the decisions of the different entities involved. We discuss the
pharmacy inventory management system of the hospital in details and provide
models for improvements. Next we provide demonstrate the tradeoffs between
increased product formulary and required workforce capacities, which can
facilitate negotiations between physicians and pharmacists.
